Carline Au, Associate

Carline HeadshotCarline Au comes to Strategic Economics with a background in social equity in the built environment, with her most recent work contributing to the development of a public lands policy for the City of Oakland. Ms. Au’s interdisciplinary and data-driven approach guides her work, from policy design to plan implementation.

Before joining Strategic Economics, Ms. Au worked across multiple topics, including proposals for affordable housing development along TOD corridors in the Bay Area, neighborhood plans in San Francisco as part of the Mayor’s Investment in Neighborhoods Initiative, resiliency planning around business improvement districts and vacant lot revitalization in Louisiana, and regional transportation equity in San Diego. Leveraging her acquired experience in research institutions and local and regional governments, Ms. Au consolidates her knowledge across multiple sectors to provide interdisciplinary analysis for sustainable land use and equitable development.

Ms. Au holds a Master in City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley, where she concentrated her studies on housing, community and economic development and urban design. Ms. Au also received her B.A in Urban Studies and Planning and International Studies-Sociology from the University of California, San Diego.
